Photo Match in Vectorworks with: (version 2010 for Vectorworks 2010)
CameraMatch 2010 Released!
Quickly and accurately align a 3D model view to a photograph! No more wasted time fiddling with 3D view controls that are just not designed for the task. Camera Match quickly finds the view by placing control lines on a photograph and clicking a button. If the view still needs tuning, Camera Match's powerful live tuning controls get the job done fast. After getting the view set, the CameraMatch masking tool magically brings it all together!
Control Line Interface Improvements: In CameraMatch 2010, the control line interface has been reworked to give greater flexibility and better feedback. While the new control lines work very much like the old ones, they behave more predicable and allow for more unusual vanish point locations. Better feedback is given to the control lines by the addition of extension lines radiating from the vanish point.
Live View Tuning: The new Tune View dialog has been streamlined and the addition of a "live slider" control allows view tuning in real time. This makes adjusting the view faster and more intuitive.
Making objects now enabled for surface operations:
"Add Surface", "Subtract Surface", and "Intersect Surface" commands now work with Camera Match Mask objects.
Camera Match Overview:
Quickly and accurately align a 3D view to a photograph! Vectorworks has some great 3D view manipulation tools, but when trying to align a 3D model to align with a photo, the process can be time consuming (and frustrating) at best. The Renderworks Camera object can help with this process, but it's just not designed for the task. Trying to adjust the Renderworks Camera's many tuning controls while keeping the model in the correct place on the photo can take hours of trial & error. And after all the trial and error, the process can still leave some question about the accuracy of the view. This is where Camera Match comes in. The Camera Match process involves placing a 3D reference point in your model, then placing a Camera Match object in a viewport's annotation space. The 3D reference point gives Camera Match the location and orientation of the model. The Camera Match object locates the reference point on the photo and establishes vanishing points by aligning control lines along elements in the photo.
